Mi è stato chiesto di mettere giù queste note, non so se è una buona idea. Tutto quello che scrivo di Shirley Bassey è orientato fortemente a suo favore.  Sono suo marito.

Quando Vic Lewis ci ha comunicato che nel tour di Shirley per l'Inghilterra, ci avrebbe accompagnato Nelson Riddle, eravamo molto emozionati; siamo dei suoi grandi ammiratori.   Trascorsi i dei dieci giorni del tour, di ritorno, qualcuno ci ha suggerito di fare un Lp insieme. L'idea ci sembrò impossibile, perché Nelson era sotto contratto con un'altra  etichetta discografica.   Ponemmo ugualmente la cosa a Norman Newell che entusiasta si è messo subito al lavoro per realizzarla. Io e Shirley  gli saremo eternamente grati per essere riuscito in questo obiettivo. [...]
